Is Popcorn A Healthy Snack?

Is Popcorn A Healthy Snack?! Learn why I no longer eat popcorn as a daily snack, and why you may want to watch your consumption as well. Guys, I used to be ADDICTED to popcorn. I’m not even kidding when I say that I would sit down with a bag and finish it before getting back up off the couch. I was ADDICTED. Boom Chicka Pop Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn was my brand of choice. It actually got SO BAD that my husband started to hide it from me. I think the most unique hiding spot was when he snuck it into the grill. But you bet your ass I found it! Honestly, I didn’t think it was doing me much harm. I mean, it’s literally just popped corn. And the calorie count is pretty reasonable, so it’s probably one of the healthier snacks, right? Mmmmm, not so much. Join me as I share with you exactly why I haven’t brought a bag of popcorn into my house in over a year! And if you’re one of those people who knows they absolutely can’t go without it, you’ll be happy to know that I also share with you the best brands to consume when you have your occasional indulgence!   FollowFollowFollowFollowFollowFollow FREE Consultation! How To Break Your Scale Addiction!

“I used to live and die by the number on the scale!”   Many of us have heard that you shouldn’t rely solely on the scale to assess your weight loss progress. But if you’re anything like me or my clients, that can be REALLY hard to do. It’s a challenge to not value that number when it seems as though that’s ALL this world uses when evaluating successful weight loss. We hear that muscle ways more than fat. We hear that we’re supposed to use other forms of measurement such as measurements, progress pictures, body fat assessment tools, etc. But it’s not enough to just TELL you that these other forms of measurement are more accurate. BUT you’re worried you won’t be able to enjoy yourself without completely blowing your diet. Right? Girllllll, I gotchu. This should be the LEAST of your worries. I have put together my top tips for conquering ANY picnic or party without sabotaging your progress. And with graduations, weddings, holidays, and “it’s summer” get-togethers, I highly recommend you bookmark this list of golden nuggets and keep it where you can find it easily. Here’s the thing with picnics… we feel like we need to gorge ourselves on all of Aunt Karen’s famous potato salad, Uncle Jim’s double chocolate peanut butter cake, AND Becky’s AMAZING cocktails. We can, to a point. But I’m not trying to nurse a sugar hangover, or any other hangover for that matter, for the week while I continue to bust my ass trying to get “BACK ON TRACK”. All aboard the struggle bus…. Instead, we can have our indulgences and still stay where we need to be to feel (and look) our best. First and foremost, I want you to remember your goals and WHY you want to live a healthier lifestyle and use that as motivation to stay on track and make smart choices.  But if that doesn’t work, go try on that itty bitty bikini you want to confidently rock this summer. Put that sucker on and feel PROUD of all the work you’ve put into...

Does Apple Cider Vinegar Aid In Weight Loss

Does Apple Cider Vinegar Aid In Weight Loss? It’s highly likely that you have heard of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) and the endless list of benefits it supposedly has. It’s definitely been one of the most popular health buzz words over the last few years, coming up in conversations about skin care, heart health, weight loss, and more. It almost seems to be one of those “fix-all” ingredients (kind of like coconut oil being the said solution for everything). But today, we’re going to focus the primary ways it may benefit you in your weight loss journey… 1.) Apple Cider Vinegar can help maintain normal blood sugar levels.  How does this relate to you in your weight loss journey? One study found vinegar consumption to decrease blood sugar levels by an average of 31% after eating white bread (which normally will quickly spikes blood sugar). In another study, scientists gave ACV to diabetic rats for four weeks and found that it significantly reduced their blood sugar levels. Talk about a simple biohack! 2.) Apple Cider Vinegar can help increase satiety.  Studies have shown that taking ACV can help increase your level of satiety, or feeling of being full, which can clearly work in your favor when trying to lose weight! Feeling full can consequently help you to consume less calories and more easily control your cravings. One study found that, on average, people who incorporated ACV into their daily regimen consumed almost 300 LESS calories per day compared...
