</div>

<p class="has-text-color" style="color:#ff00ff"><strong>The reality is&#8230;</strong></p>

<div class="wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-8cf370e7 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex">
<p>• Unresolved emotional trauma </p>

<p>• Enviromental toxins</p>

<p>• Parasites</p>

<p>• Mold</p>

<p>• Toxic heavy metals</p>

<p>• Endocrine disrupters like BPA</p>

<p>• Hormonal Imbalances (stemming from or being exacerbated by these other root causes)</p>
</div>

<p><em><strong>ALL of these and so many more issues play a MAJOR role in weight gain and weight loss resistance.&nbsp;</strong></em></p>

<p>It’s actually quite a common occurrence for a client to initially arrive at our virtual clinic, filled with frustration over explainable weight gain that has accumulated over the course of a few months or a few years. And 99% of the time, they’ve had at least one occurrence with a previous practitioner or coach who focused on the nutrition and fitness pillars of health and weight loss, but only lightly touched on or completely skipped over the deeper root causes at hand.&nbsp;</p>

<p>When we start to explain how these toxins and pathogens are playing a role in their struggle with their weight, it’s either a light bulb moment (because they’re never heard of such a thing before) or an “I knew it” moment (because they had a hunch that there was more to the story but no “professional” would believe them)!</p>

<p>If you are frustrated with your body composition, whether you’re struggling to breakthrough a weight loss plateau, struggle to lose any weight at all, or you keep gaining unwanted weight unexplainably, you very likely have deeper ROOT CAUSES that have either not been addressed at all or were not addressed properly if they were indeed addressed in the past to some degree. Here are just a few examples of how these toxins and pathogens can play a role:</p>

<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Environmental toxins</strong> can alter lipid (fat) metabolism and promote the growth of fat cells. Early-life exposure can play a major role in predisposing animals to insulin resistance, hormone disruptions, and obesity. Ever hear of a category of toxins called Obesogens? This is EXACTLY how they got their name!</li>

<li><strong>Organic pollutants </strong>have been tied to mitochondrial dysfunction and metabolic syndrome. If your mitochondria within the cells of your muscles, brain, liver, and other organs don’t work well, YOU don’t work well. If your body can’t keep up with energy demands because the mitochondria are impaired, it will often downregulate certain processes within the body to accommodate. This includes the downregulation of your metabolism.</li>

<li><strong>Parasites are pathogens </strong>that can not only harbor and release toxins in the body that contribute to the issues already listed above. But they can also greatly influence your neurotransmitter levels which can increase cravings and affect your mood and motivation (which clearly has a downstream affect on your food choices, desire to exercise, etc). They impair the function of your various drainage pathways such as your liver which affects your ability to detox, your gut health status, hormonal balance, and more. The list of effects from these pesky critters is endless. And as my friend Dr. Todd Watts says, “If you have a pulse, you have parasites.”&nbsp;</li>
</ol>

<p>Yes, caloric intake and energy expenditure absolutely play a primary role in body composition. Those variables should still be acknowledged and accounted for. But they are NOT the sole factors. When our culture and much of the fitness industry endlessly preach this message of “calories in vs calories out”, while you’re sitting there beyond frustrated because your caloric deficit is making ZERO difference in your results, it makes you wonder…</p>

<p><strong><em>“WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING WRONG?!?!”</em></strong></p>

<p><strong>My friend, your body isn’t broken.</strong><strong><em> </em></strong><strong>It’s the health education system that’s broken.&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p>They’ve overlooked these root causes to weight loss resistance (and countless other health challenges) for far too long. And it’s time to end the gaslighting.</p>

<p><strong>It’s time for ROOT CAUSE solutions.</strong></p>

<p>You’ve been stuck on this weight loss roller coaster or in this weight loss purgatory for far too long. Weight loss issues, along with the brain fog, fatigue, and bloating that tend to come along with it do not have to be your fat.</p>

<p>So what’s next?</p>

<p><strong>Start with my Free, On-Demand 3 Day Drainage Clinic </strong>where you can equip yourself with the tools and resources to learn how to open your drainage pathways to officially prepare your body for further detox in the future. This is a HUGE first step that so many people miss, and it keeps them sick. (This program is FREE for a limited time!) <a href="https://3dayclinic.com/drainage-clinic" title=""><strong>Get Exclusive Access!</strong></a></p>

<p>No matter what path you may be leaning towards at this time, I pray that you take action NOW. You deserve to get to the bottom of weight loss resistance and any other health challenges that are influencing your quality of life, your confidence, and your joy. And I’m blessed to be able to be part of your healing journey in whatever way that may be.</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">Do you struggle with giving in to junk food?</h5>

<p>It’s like it has hypnotic powers, right?!</p>

<p>You can be doing SOOO GOOD following your nutrition regimen.</p>

<p><em><strong>But then…&nbsp;</strong></em>you see all the baked goods just chilling there in the break room and ALL BETS ARE OFF.</p>

<p>I mean, if you could just live in your own little bubble where there was only healthy food available, that would be one thing.</p>

<p>But junk food is&nbsp;EVERYWHERE.</p>

<p>It’s near&nbsp;IMPOSSIBLE&nbsp;to avoid it!</p>

<p>So how&nbsp;do we keep it from derailing our results?</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">In this video, I discuss my top 4 tips in detail:</h5>

<p>1. Don’t bring the junk food in the house!</p>

<p>2. If it HAS to be in the house, put it on a different shelf in your
pantry, or in a completely different location altogether (some place
that you don’t need to go to every single day)</p>

<p>3. Add barriers of entry, like sticky notes!</p>

<p>4. Trash talk your food!</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">Why You May Be Having Trouble Losing Fat In Your Mid-Section (and no, it’s not just a matter of eating less calories)…</h5>

<p>If you have fat that you’ve been
trying to lose and it’s REALLY difficult for you to break through this
weight loss plateau, especially in your midsection It seems like
nothing’s working?… it is absolutely possible that you have heavy
metals, toxic chemicals, and exposure to foods that you can’t fully
digest, and that is CAUSING your body to hold on to more fat.</p>

<p><em>Here’s what I mean….</em></p>

<p><strong>Your body is freakin smart.</strong>
When it’s exposed to something toxic, it produces white fat cells as a
protective mechanism to keep toxins AWAY from your brain. So everytime
that you’re taking in something toxic — whether it be pesticides on your
food, heavy metals from toxic cookware, ingredients in implants
(whether they be breast implants, IUDs, etc), mold exposure, or even
consumption of foods that cause inflammation like dairy and gluten — <em><strong>your body will create white fat cells to surround that toxin, to protect your brain.</strong></em></p>

<p>And then once your body has created
these toxic fat cells, its not too willing to release them. Your body
can intentionally hold on to those fat cells with a death grip because
it doesn’t want to allow them to get back into circulation and risk them
 harming your brain.</p>

<p><strong>So how do you get past this?</strong> <strong>How do you break this cycle when you already have higher fat stores.&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p>You need to improve your
detoxification capabilities by reducing your body’s inflammation through
the RIGHT foods and the RIGHT supplements ( and this is why I focus so
greatly on this during my <a href="https://www.7dayreset.net">7 Day Reset program</a>),
and stop exposing yourself to those toxins. They may be toxins you’re
consuming through foods, beverages, personal care products, or your
environment. But you need to identify the source and separate yourself
from it as soon as possible</p>

<p></p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">Can You Actually Be Addicted To Food?</h5>

<p>In this video, I address how <strong>food addiction</strong> is indeed a real thing, and how you begin to recover.</p>

<p>This is a really important topic to
discuss, and I don’t think there’s enough attention being drawn to it.
Over 7 million people in the U.S alone struggle with food addiction.</p>

<p>Personally, I feel like society in
general is happy to celebrate someone for their sobriety from alcohol or
drugs, as they should! My own father has been sober for over 20 years
and it’s absolutely something to celebrate! But when it comes to food
addiction, we forget that it’s just as powerful. Recovery from food
addiction It’s more than willpower. It’s more than drive and motivation.
This addiction truly is a chemical reaction in your body that keeps you
addicted to food. It’s a culmination of brain and body.</p>

<p>We must stop shaming people for making the healthiest choices they need to make to get through this addiction.</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>The Science (what’s happening in your body):</strong></h5>

<p>Gluten and dairy can stimulate opiate
receptors and trigger those “feel good” hormones called endorphins in
the brain. And they produce that “feel good” response.</p>

<p>And THEN, on top of the fact that
you’re getting this immediate endorphin release, the cycle perpetuates.
Because once you’ve eaten those foods, they start altering the chemical
makeup of your gut. And it starts having a will of its own, because it
wants to survive. So it will send chemical messengers to your brain that
 say “ I want more…”</p>

<p>How do you break the cycle?</p>

<p>Rewire the brain through training the
subconscious body, while resetting the body and the gut through
specific nutritional adjustments. We do EXACTLY THIS in my 7 Day reset
program.</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">Find details at <a href="http://www.7dayreset.net">www.7dayreset.net</a></h5>

<p><strong>Full Video Transcription:</strong><br> <em>Hey
there guys, it’s Lyss here and over the next 10 minutes I’m going to be
addressing the question of whether or not you actually can be addicted
to food. Like somebody can be addicted to drugs or alcohol. So as you
guys are hopping on, whether you guys are watching me do this live or
you are catching this as a replay someplace else, I want you to do me a
favor and post your most desired comfort foods. Do me a favor and put in
the comments right now, like your top two or three comfort foods. You
know those days where you’re like you just had enough with people at
work or your kids are driving you crazy or you just had a really
stressful day and it’s like those foods that are just going to put you
in a good mood or you want to relax with on the couch.</em></p>

<p><em> Do me a favor and put those in the comments. So I’m going to be
talking to you guys about. first, why food addiction is spoiler alert, a
real thing, a legitimate thing, and then how you can fix it. Guys, the
reason that I want to address this is because I think it’s such an
important topic. We have literally 70 million people (and this statistic
is from 2016 from the food and Drug Administration), but over 70
million people just in the U.S. alone struggle with food addiction. And
so, you know, I come from a family where, you know, we’ve struggled with
addiction in many different ways and so I’ve realized over the years I
feel like society in general is a little bit more aware and supportive
of celebrating people that are in sobriety from alcohol addiction or
drug addiction. And my dad has been sober for 20-25 years and it’s like,
 it’s a huge accomplishment.</em></p>

<p><em> I mean I love when my newsfeed comes up filled with people that
are celebrating their one year sober, two years sober, three years
sober, a couple months sober. I think it’s such an incredible
accomplishment. I just think that we also need to celebrate people that
are going through food addiction and making it through there and we have
to be easier on them. And so this, this training kind of came from a
little bit of my selfish side of getting tired of seeing, you know,
clients and people that are in my 7 Day Reset or doing any of my
programs, having them just be shamed by people that are in their life,
that are asking them to like go to Taco bell or go to dairy queen and
get ice cream, or like go out to the bar one, two, three times a week
and just make decisions that would take them further from their goals.</em></p>

<p><em> And it’s like people make them feel bad about it. And the way
that I look at it and try to put it into perspective is I hope as a
friend or a family member, if you had a friend or family member that was
addicted to alcohol and you knew it was sober, I pray to God that you
wouldn’t be inviting them to a bar and then getting pissed that they
wouldn’t go with you. Right? Because you know that that’s going to steer
them in the wrong direction, take them away from their goal and
possibly bring them out of sobriety. And it’s the same thing with food.
So guys, do me a favor. As you guys are hopping on like I said, I’m
going to use this in just a minute. What are your top two or three
comfort foods? And I’m going to talk to you about that in just a second.</em></p>

<p><em> I do have a reasoning behind that, but okay, so Sherry says
chips and dip a Dr Pepper. Yes, drinks absolutely can do that. Some days
anything will do, right? People just sometimes feel like they’re a food
addict. It doesn’t necessarily even matter which specific food it is.
Thank you for being so transparent, Sherry. I appreciate it. So guys, I
just needed to kind of preface this as why I’m so passionate about
talking about this because I just feel like as a society we, we do
celebrate people that are recovering from other addictions and we don’t
look at food as much of an addiction thing. I think a lot of people look
at it as more of like a lack of willpower or a lack of motivation or a
lack of drive and I’m here to help you understand that it actually is a
chemical reaction, like a chemical response in your brain, in your body
and you can reset it, which is part of what I do in my seven day reset.</em></p>

<p><em> We address the brain and the body part, but how many of you guys
have ever felt like maybe you struggle with something but when you
understand why it’s happening, it just helps it kind of put into
perspective and you can just swallow it a little bit better. Like have
you ever been sick or you’re experiencing certain symptoms and you know
you go and you get a diagnosis from a doctor and it doesn’t necessarily
mean that once you got that diagnosis that everything is better, but it
helps you be able to just be like you’re not crazy and to feel like you
can just kind of swallow it a little bit easier. Hey, has anybody else
ever felt that way? I know I have. It just makes it a little bit easier
to, to take on and to tackle. And so I feel like helping you guys
understand the very like layman’s terms like science behind what is
going on, the understanding that you’re not crazy for.</em></p>

<p><em> Yeah, you are being addicted to those chips or being addicted to
the pasta or the breads. There is a reason why you’re craving that. Ben
and Jerry’s like, it’s not just that you don’t have willpower, it’s not
just that you don’t have self control. Is the brain important? Is
Retraining, rewiring the brain important? Absolutely. But there’s a
chemical reaction in your body. And so this is not just you being crazy
and not having self control. This is literally something that is going
on within you. So what happens here guys is most of the foods that you
guys are commenting or describing have either gluten or dairy in them
for a lot of things. And then sugar. Sugar has it’s own own level of
addictive properties. But what happens guys is when you’re having gluten
anything with wheat in it, you have your pastas, your breads, you know
those Carby things, any type of dairy, I don’t care whether it’s ice
cream, whether it’s really buttery popcorn, any type of dairy that’s in
there, cheese, pizza, pizza’s got gluten and dairy, how many of you guys
feel like pizza is super comforting to you guys?</em></p>

<p><em> They don’t call it comfort foods for nothing. It literally is
triggering these opiate receptors in your brain that are the same
receptors that can get activated by alcohol, activated by drugs,
activated by certain medications, activated by like exercise. You get
like that runners high, right? It actually is a chemical response that’s
in your brain. So you instantly are getting this feel good response
when you’re having any of these comfort foods. It’s called a comfort
food because those neurotransmitters, those endorphins are comforting
you. It’s not like your, your bag of chips or Ben and Jerry’s is sitting
there petting you. You’re, you’re cuddling up with it. I mean, maybe
you’re cuddling with it, but it’s because it’s comforting, literally
chemically to your brain. So that’s that instant release of endorphins
and then what’s happening guys, even worse yet, you’re not only getting
that immediate like satisfaction from those foods, but once you start
having them a couple of times and you have them repetitively, it’s
starting to change the bugs in your gut.</em></p>

<p><em> So when you have sugar, when you have dairy, when you have
gluten repetitively, you start to have more of like the bad bacteria in
your gut. And then if you stop eating those, your gut’s smart. Like it
starts to have a mind of its own now and it’s like, hmm, Alyssa stopped
beating me this stuff. I’m going to send Chemical Messengers to the
brain saying I need more of this now. Did you guys ever want to stop
having certain foods? You really want to cut that Ben and Jerry’s out.
You really want to stop having pasta every day. You really want to get
rid of your total Bagel, baked food, donut, whatever addiction that you
have. And it’s like you have withdrawal symptoms. It’s a real thing. You
absolutely have food withdrawal and usually it’s happening between the
first two and five days that you stop eating one of these types of
foods.</em></p>

<p><em> This is why when I do my seven day reset program and we address a
lot of this stuff, days two through five are typically the hardest for
most people and then by the end of it they got everything reset. But not
only are we rewiring their brain, but we got to do the rewiring of the
gut. You’re literally resetting the, the bacteria and the cultures in
your gut through certain nutritional changes in this program. So any of
you guys out there, whether it’s you or somebody that you know that
super struggles with being able to cut out certain foods that feels like
they’re addicted to certain foods, addicted to food in general, feel
like they can’t get a hold of their cravings and, and just being able to
tackle this, this, this beast, this beast of feeling like, you know,
you have some type of sadness or negative emotion in your life and you
solve it with food.</em></p>

<p><em> Or just feeling like even if you are a happy person, why are you addicted to food and why can’t you stop? There is a chemical reason for it. And we work through it in the seven days of my seven day reset. That’s just one of the benefits. So guys, please do me a favor. And if you or anybody else that you know struggles with any type of food addiction, send this to them in messenger. Share it on your wall because this is something that I feel like most people think. It’s, it’s them, it’s, it’s them just being broken and not having enough willpower. And so much more than that. And we need to lift the shame and just be able to give people true tangible advice and good solutions that they can start to implement today. Because it absolutely is possible to break this addiction and you know, as little as a week because you, you can rebuild the cells in your gut in three to seven days, which is a big portion of it. So if you guys have any questions as always, post and below. Otherwise I will see you next time.</em></p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">Is Popcorn A Healthy Snack?!</h5>

<p><em><strong>Learn why I no longer eat popcorn as a daily snack, and why you may want to watch your consumption as well.</strong></em></p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">Guys, I used to be ADDICTED to popcorn.</h5>

<p>I’m not even kidding when I say that I would sit down with a bag and
finish it before getting back up off the couch. I was ADDICTED. Boom
Chicka Pop Sweet &amp; Salty Kettle Corn was my brand of choice.</p>

<p>It actually got SO BAD that my husband started to hide it from me. I
think the most unique hiding spot was when he snuck it into the grill.
But you bet your ass I found it!</p>

<p>Honestly, I didn’t think it was doing me much harm.</p>

<p>I mean, it’s literally just popped corn.</p>

<p>And the calorie count is pretty reasonable, so it’s probably one of the healthier snacks, right?</p>

<p><em>Mmmmm, not so much.</em></p>

<p>Join me as I share with you exactly why I haven’t brought a bag of popcorn into my house in over a year! And if you’re one of those people who knows they absolutely can’t go without it, you’ll be happy to know that I also share with you the best brands to consume when you have your occasional indulgence!</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">How To Enjoy The Holiday Weekend WITHOUT Going Up A Pant Size!</h5>

<p>It’s the weekend before Memorial Day and you, of course are making
your plans for all the picnics, parties, and grilling your little heart
can handle. BUT you’re worried you won’t be able to enjoy yourself
without completely blowing your diet. Right? Girllllll, I gotchu. This
should be the LEAST of your worries. I have put together my top tips for
conquering ANY picnic or party without sabotaging your progress. And
with graduations, weddings, holidays, and “it’s summer” get-togethers, I
highly recommend you bookmark this list of golden nuggets and keep it
where you can find it easily.</p>

<p>Here’s the thing with picnics… we feel like we need to gorge
ourselves on all of Aunt Karen’s famous potato salad, Uncle Jim’s double
chocolate peanut butter cake, AND Becky’s AMAZING cocktails. We can, to
a point. But I’m not trying to nurse a sugar hangover, or any other
hangover for that matter, for the week while I continue to bust my ass
trying to get “BACK ON TRACK”. All aboard the struggle bus….</p>

<p>Instead, we can have our indulgences and still stay where we need to
be to feel (and look) our best. First and foremost, I want you to
remember your goals and WHY you want to live a healthier lifestyle and
use that as motivation to stay on track and make smart choices.&nbsp; But if
that doesn’t work, go try on that itty bitty bikini you want to
confidently rock this summer. Put that sucker on and feel PROUD of all
the work you’ve put into your body thus far. Do a little spin, check out
that booty and give yourself a strong pat on the back. You DON’T want
to regress and set yourself back from all that hard work you’ve put in
thus far just for ONE picnic…. especially at the beginning of the summer
when we have 9,675 more picnics and events to go! So check out my top
tips below and put them to good use!</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>1. Eat before you go.</strong></h5>

<p>You’ll be a million times more pleasant and you won’t binge while
you’re at the party. Think of it as doing your hosts a favor, nobody
like Hangry Hellen who is miserable and keeps asking when the burgers
will be done. And if you’re hosting the party… you’ll be able to
tolerate Hangry Hellen a lot more than you would on an empty stomach.
Trust me, you’ll thank me later. Focus on a full meal prior to the party
(protein, fat, carbs and veggie) and don’t forget to load up on the
water while you’re at it.</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">2. Bring or make a dish.</h5>

<p>By bringing a dish you know there will be something at the party you
can eat and that you enjoy. Sometimes we feel uncomfortable asking
somebody to prepare a meal for us that meets all of our needs. “um yes,
can you make me all gluten free, Dairy-free, soy-free, low sodium
dishes. Oh, and I don’t eat beans and I’m allergic to nuts. Great
Thanks!”. You just bought yourself a one way ticket to the “not invited
list”, keep this in mind for parties you DON’T want to attend. Bringing
an item gives you control and doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable or
like you’re putting the host out by asking THEM to meet your needs.</p>

<p>Need some ideas of what to bring? Maybe start with some gluten-free
rolls (even just one or two for yourself). Canyon Bakehouse and Udi’s
are my favorite brands. Consider a burger alternative such as turkey
burgers, salmon burgers, or grilled chicken. Try out a <a href="https://lexiscleankitchen.com/burger-salad-with-mustard-dressing/">Burger Salad Recipe</a>, or prepare yourself a sweet potato “bun” like the one featured in <a href="https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchen/black-bean-and-corn-veggie-burger-with-sweet-potato-bun-3363483">this recipe</a>! I even have an amazing recipe for a <a href="http://www.eatingwell.com/recipe/273178/grilled-eggplant-summer-squash-salad/">Grilled Eggplant and Summer Squash Salad</a> that’s vegan-friendly, and of course Gauc or hummus with veggies is ALWAYS a hit!</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">3. When you’re done eating, MOVE away from the food.</h5>

<p>Keep Going, not yet, almost, 27 more steps… STOP right there. We are
triggered by our senses. The longer you stand and chat next to the food,
the more you are going to pick without even realizing it. One minute
there’s a basket of tortillas and taco salad and 5 minutes later you’re
scooping salsa with your fingers. We’ve all been there when the OH SHIT
of what we’ve just eaten has taken over.</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">4. Bring a protein bar.</h5>

<p>Keep a protein bar in your bag, this especially helps with desert
craving. Protein bars used to be one of the most disgusting things on
the planet, but now you can get them in just about any flavor you can
imagine. Last week I had one that was a “chocolate mint brownie” and it
tasted exactly like a fudgy mint brownie. I’m sold!</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">5. Be smart with your beverage choices.</h5>

<p>Look I know we already talked about Becky’s amazing cocktails and I’m
sure they are the best ones you’ve ever had, BUT you will blow a weeks’
worth calories (and let’s not forget about the sugar) really fast!
Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered with a few drink options, I’m not a
complete buzz kill.</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">**Smart Beverage Hacks**</h5>

<p>1. <strong>Cocktails Made with True Lemon cut your carb/sugar count drastically!</strong>&nbsp;I
have three True Lemon cocktail recipes (Many true lemon flavors are
found at target, walmart, many grocery stores, and online at
truelemon.com and on amazon) that are AMAZING!! These recipes have a
lower carb/sugar count than the majority of cocktail recipes which will
help to control your blood sugar spikes and decrease the amount of empty
calories you consume. I’ll be honest, the Grapefruit summer spritzer,
might be my favorite and completely takes any “guilt” out of drinking.</p>

<p>A.) <a href="https://www.truelemon.com/pages/tropical-orange-mango-margarita/">Tropical Orange Mango Margarita</a><br> B.) <a href="https://www.truelemon.com/pages/true-grapefruit-summer-sprit-cocktail">True Grapefruit Summer Spritzer</a><br> C.) <a href="https://www.truelemon.com/pages/true-lemon-drop-martini">True Lemon Drop Martini</a></p>

<p>2. <strong>Kombucha instead of soda, lemonade, or juice.</strong> (<em>My favorite brands are Kevita and GT</em>).&nbsp;I
have many clients who enjoy Kombucha and even share it with their kids.
If you haven’t tried it, you may need to play with a few different
flavors before you find the one you REALLY enjoy. My favorite flavor is
Kevita’s Pineapple Peach! Drink it plain or use it as a healthier mixer
for your adult beverage. It’s a nice treat when you want something MORE
than water, but still want to keep things clean and on track.</p>

<p>I wanted to show you a few nutrition facts just to show you how much
of a difference it can make for you AND your family to choose smarter
beverage options.</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>8 oz Kevita= 35 cals, 8g carbs, 8g sugar</li><li>8 oz Coke = 95 cals, 26g carbs, 26g sugar, chemicals</li><li>8 oz Minute Maid Lemonade = SAME AS COKE!</li><li>8 oz Florida’s Natural orange juice = 110 cals, 26g carb, 22g sugar</li></ul>

<p>Making the switch to Kombucha alone can cut your calories by almost 70%!</p>

<p><strong>Now, I need to emphasize to you
that, when you’re making these healthier food and beverage choice, it’s
not JUST about minimizing the calorie consumption for that day.</strong> These
little changes will have an effect on your blood sugar, insulin
sensitivity, hormone levels, and more for the next several days. The
choices you make in ONE DAY truly create a snowball effect for the rest
of your week! You can potentially have a food and sugar hangover for
DAYS! So many times, we adopt the mindset of “Its one day! What can it
hurt?!” One day of crappy food and beverage choices can cause you to be
bloated, sluggish, moody, tired, and miserable for DAYS. To me, it’s
just not worth it! Especially when I know there are ways I can still
enjoy myself AND have a few snacks here and there at a picnic or event.
This is all about the lifestyle, and making these simple adjustments to
avoid the all-out-binge mindset we’re accustomed to when it comes to
events that involve food!</p>

<p>Now, if you’re looking to reasonably enjoy your holiday weekend, but still want to “Reset” after the celebrations are over, I’d love to have your in our next round of the 7 Day Reset starting Tuesday, May 28th! Want more details? <a href="https://www.7dayreset.net">CLICK HERE</a>!</p>

<p></p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">Does Apple Cider Vinegar Aid In Weight Loss?</h5>

<p>It’s highly likely that you have heard of <strong>Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)</strong>
and the endless list of benefits it supposedly has. It’s definitely
been one of the most popular health buzz words over the last few years,
coming up in conversations about skin care, heart health, weight loss,
and more. It almost seems to be one of those “fix-all” ingredients (kind
of like coconut oil being the said solution for everything).</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">But today, we’re going to focus the primary ways it may benefit you in your weight loss journey…</h5>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>1.) Apple Cider Vinegar can help maintain normal blood sugar levels.&nbsp;</strong></h5>

<p>How does this relate to you in your weight loss journey? Out-of-whack
blood sugar levels lead to hormonal fluctuations, cravings (you know
when you feel like a raveous creature), poor sleep, and more. One study
found vinegar consumption to decrease blood sugar levels by an average
of 31% after eating white bread (which normally will quickly spikes
blood sugar).&nbsp; In another study, scientists gave ACV to diabetic rats for
four weeks and found that it significantly reduced their blood sugar
levels. Talk about a <em>simple biohack</em>!</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>2.) Apple Cider Vinegar can help increase satiety.</strong></h5>

<p>Studies have shown that taking ACV can help increase your level of
satiety, or feeling of being full, which can clearly work in your favor
when trying to lose weight! Feeling full can consequently help you to
consume less calories and more easily control your cravings. One study
found that, on average, people who incorporated ACV into their daily
regimen consumed almost 300 LESS calories per day compared to those who
did not drink ACV! Whhhhaaatttttt?!?!?</p>

<p>And last but not least….</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>3.) Apple Cider Vinegar can help relieve symptoms of Acid Reflux.</strong></h5>

<p>You may be sitting there thinking, “What does that have to do with
weight loss”? If you’re anything like I used to be when I would get acid
reflux, you may use food consumption to try and “calm it down”. This
can ultimately lead to unnecessary calorie consumption, leading you
further and further from your goal.</p>

<p>When we think about Acid Reflux or GERD, we tend to think that we
need to REDUCE the amount of acid in our stomach, with something such as
Tums or Prilosec. It’s not your fault that this is your initial
thought. Most doctors are telling you to follow the regimen. But an
anti-acid product is not your solution. In most cases, when experiencing
acid reflux, we should not be trying to reduce our stomach acid, but
SUPPORT IT.&nbsp; Most times, Acid Reflux and GERD are symptoms of <em>lack of</em>
acid in your stomach, NOT an overabundance. By taking ACV you actually
increasing the acid in your stomach, helping to restore its natural pH,
and neutralizing your reflux symptoms. If you know this is an issue for
you, I recommend drinking your ACV around meal times or when you know
will be consuming a more protein rich meal.</p>

<p>If you’ve ever taken straight shots of Apple Cider Vinegar, you know it’s not the greatest tasting drink in the world and can be a little difficult to choke down. So I’ve decided to throw in a few ACV Drink &amp; Tonic Recipes into my next 7-day Reset, starting Tuesday, May 28th! If you’re looking to jumpstart your weight loss journey, get ready for summer, and reset after the holiday weekend, check out the <a href="https://www.7dayreset.net">details of my 7 Day Reset HERE</a>!</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">Who Wants Chocolate For Breakfast?!</h5>

<p>Do I have your attention? Good! I thought that would help get this moving in the right direction.</p>

<p>Have you ever wondered what you could eat for breakfast that tastes
good AND is actually healthy? You very well maybe be sitting there
thinking to yourself, “Yes Allyssa, I have. But Chocolate?!
C’monnnnnnnn”.&nbsp;I know, I know. But I promise you want to hear me out! I’ve yet to let you down and I’m not going to start now.</p>

<p>With so many breakfast options and
endless opinions of what you should choose to break your fast, how do
you possibly know how to make the right choice?! If you’re anything&nbsp;like
me, there are countless mornings where you barely have enough time to
sit down and pee. Let alone cook up an elaborate breakfast concoction.
This smoothie recipe is perfect&nbsp;for you, Super Mom. Even better news, it’s
only six ingredients, with chocolate being one of them of course. This
is just ONE of the countless delicious recipes I provide for you in my <strong><a href="https://www.7dayreset.net">7 DAY RESET</a></strong>&nbsp;program!</p>

<p>What you eat in the morning (or afternoon if you incorporate
intermittent fasting) has a HUGE effect on the rest of your day, your
energy level, mood, and ESPECIALLY you hunger levels! Ladies, we tend to
be even more sensitive to blood sugar and insulin dips and spikes,
(HANGRY MUCH?). This smoothie recipe is exactly what you need to help
control cravings, keep you full, keep you focused, and keep those
hormones balanced!</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">Okay, let’s get to the fun part… THE RECIPE!!!</h5>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>INGREDIENTS:</strong></h5>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>1 handful organic spinach</strong>
(spinach is high on the dirty dozen list, always look for organic
spinach. If you can’t find it fresh, check the freezer section. You can
usually find it pretty cheap)</li><li><strong>½ avocado</strong> (you can also find these frozen, which is what I do since mine ALWAYS go bad before I eat<br> them)</li><li><strong>1-2 TBSP Cacao Powder</strong>, NOT mini chocolate chips (sorry) Look for Raw Organic Dark Chocolate</li><li><strong>1 scoop protein powder of choice</strong> (my favorites are <strong><a href="http://biohackingbombshell.lifevantage.com/products/physiq-protein/">PhysIQ Whey Protein</a></strong> or Ancient Nutrition Bone Broth protein depending on which I’m in the mood for)</li><li><strong>1 cup nut milk</strong> of your choice or water (water or unsweetened vanilla almond milk are my preferences)</li><li><strong>3-4 ice cubes</strong> if desired.<br> *<em>**Note- if using frozen avocado and spinach, you may not need as much ice***</em></li></ul>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>DIRECTIONS:</strong></h5>

<p>Blend in the blender and ENJOY!</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">Smoothie Hacks:</h5>

<p>Many smoothies can also be made ahead of time! I have several clients
who like to make their shakes the night before, freeze them, then thaw
them in the morning!</p>

<p>Another option is to whip up your shake and simply put it into a
Blender Bottle or some type of bottle/cup that contains a whisk ball!
Sometimes I will just drop my whisk ball right into my blender cup, spin
on the lid and out the door we go.</p>

<p>My final smoothie hack for today is a huge time saver! Make yourself a
week’s worth of “Freezer bags” filled with your pre-portioned smoothie
ingredients! Measure out your spinach, avocado and Cacao powder put in a
freezer bag or container and place in the freezer. Now they are ready
go, just dump, add protein, nut milk and blend.</p>

<p>If you want access to more biohacking recipes just like this, a
detailed meal plan, and want the perfect jumpstart to reaching your
goals, you HAVE to check out the <strong>7 DAY RESET</strong>! <a href="https://www.7dayreset.net"><strong>CLICK HERE FOR ALL THE DETAILS!!!</strong></a></p>

</div></figure>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">it’s very possible that a lack of PREBIOTICS could be contributing to your difficulty in reaching your health, fitness, or weight loss goal.</h5>

<p>There’s a lot of talk and emphasis on <strong>PRObiotics</strong> these days, but <strong>PREbiotics</strong>
are not talked about nearly enough! So I’m going to help you understand
what a prebiotic is, what the benefits are, and whether or not you
should be taking one! [[To view info on probiotics and see my husband
belly dance in the process, <a href="https://www.fitwithlyss.com/the-best-probiotic-physiq-probio/">CLICK HERE</a>]]</p>

<p>First of all, why do either of these components matter? Why are they
essential to your health? Because they’re necessary for a
well-functioning gut, and with your gut being your second brain, you
need to support it in every way possible. Chances are, if you have some
type of health issue going on, your gut is affecting it. If your
hormones are unbalanced, your mood is unstable, you experience bloating,
you deal with anxiety or depression, you’re tired, you deal with
inflammation in any form, there it is HIGHLY LIKELY that it is stemming
from your gut. So if you want to have more control over your body and
your results, you need to take control your gut health.</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">What exactly is a prebiotic?</h5>

<p>It’s a special type of soluble fiber that can be consumed via
supplement or whole food sources. There are several different types of
prebiotic fibers such as inulin, oligofructose, and fructoiligosaccaride
(FOS) and you can find these fibers in many plants such as&nbsp;Jerusalem
artichoke, chicory root, onions, garlic, bananas, etc. The problem most
people encounter is that they won’t or can’t eat enough of these
pre-biotic-rich foods to actually reap the benefits.</p>

<p><strong>Do you need both prebiotics AND probiotics?</strong></p>

<p>Yes, they have a synergistic relationship! Probiotics are the good
bacteria that we need in our gut in order for it to function properly.
Prebiotics are essentially the food that the probiotics need to eat in
order to survive!</p>

<p><strong>How do I personally consume my prebiotics?</strong></p>

<p>I certainly get some of my prebiotic count from whole food sources.
But I consume a prebiotic supplement as well. Many of the food sources
that provide prebiotic fibers must be consumed raw (garlic, onion,
asparagus, banana) and I find it difficult to consume those specific
foods in high enough volume that it hits my daily recommended intake!</p>

</div></figure>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Learn About Three Ingredients Contributing To Your Bloating, Fatigue, And Anxiety That You Most Likely Consume On A Daily Basis!!</strong></h5>

<p>We so greatly underestimate the effect that our food (and the
accompanying ingredients) has on our gut. Being mindful of your
nutrition is not just for those who are looking to lose a few inches or
lower their blood pressure. The food we eat and what it does to our gut
DIRECTLY affects countless bodily processes including&nbsp;<strong>hormone and neurotransmitter regulation</strong>, mental clarity, energy production, and so much more. <strong>Anxiety, Fatigue, and Bloating</strong> are just a FEW of the side effects of an unhealthy, unbalanced gut!</p>

<p>There are MANY ingredients that disrupt your gut. But today, we’re
addressing the top 3 that most of us consume in one way or another on a
regular basis!</p>

<p><strong>1. SUGAR</strong>&#8211;
Fruit, juice, soda, wine, candy, chocolate, cereal, yogurt, snack bars,
the list of sugar-containing foods is endless. Sugar is proven to
increase <strong>gut permeability</strong> (meaning food particles are
able to escape from your gut into your blood stream), increase
inflammation (the number one cause of disease), and can therefore
exacerbate leaky gut!&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>2. GLUTEN</strong>&nbsp;–&nbsp;Gluten
contains a protein known as Gliadin that is known to cause gut
permeability. In fact, no human is physically able to full break down
gliadin. So even if you’re not “experiencing symptoms” when eating
gluten-containing foods, that DOES NOT that your gut is free from the
damage! Where can gluten be found? Wheat, Rye, Barley contain gluten,
but it can also be found in more unexpected places such as&nbsp;sauces and
gravies, and any recipe or product that contains wheat flour.</p>

<p><strong>3. MEAT GLUE</strong> &#8211; Yes, this is ACTUALLY a thing! <strong>Meat Glue</strong>
can go by a few different names: microbial transglutaminase, mTG, TG,
thrombin, Fibrimex, Activa, etc. Transglutaminase is a special enzyme
that holds proteins together (hence the name meat glue). Where can it be
found? Just about everywhere! Steaks, burgers, imitation crab meat,
sushi, deli meats, cheese, yogurts, cereal. By law, companies are
required to list it on the label. You may also see a package that reads
something like,&nbsp;“Formed Beef Tenderloin” or “Formed Turkey Thigh
Roast.”&nbsp; That means that that particular product used meat glue to “form”
a big piece of meat from several small pieces of meat.</p>

<p>KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR LABELS! YOUR GUT WILL THANK YOU!</p>
